Sworn To Quell (Courtlight Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 252 ratings

Ciardis Weathervane witnessed the collapse of her empire’s system of governance. Because everything pivoted on the rule of one man. Now she must forge a new path. Through the madness. Through the chaos.

Still with the imperial palace in ruins, and the coalition between the nobles and the rebellion falling apart, there is no more time. No time to rule. No time to justify.

The god was here for retribution, and her triad would be forced to rise to the occasion or fall under its own bluster.

With an emperor dead, a prince heir uncrowned, and a people lost in the wilderness of death and destruction every which way they turn, Ciardis faces her most challenging assignment yet. Picking up the pieces. Mending the coalition. Winning the hearts and minds of Sebastian’s people. The people she could now call her own.

The heavens have come to earth. It remains to be seen if the earth will fall before its might.

This one is a bit of a filler as it sets us up for the next big fight between our trio and the goddess. It also sets the stage further for other evil groups to emerge so don't be surprised if there is a bunch more of these great books to come.

I find it really interesting how this author can jump back to something quite trivial in a much earlier book and suddenly the huge ramifications of it emerge in these later books. How she even keeps them in mind I will never know. Great writing and a strong story line which just seems to keep giving and giving.

I only gave it 4 stars because it really feels like only part of a book and the next one is not ready so I can keep reading and get the whole of this part of the overall story. Not a cliff hanger but the end feels like I should have been just turning a page and reading the next 20 chapters.

Filled with adventure from beginning to end. I had thought this was the final book of the series but instead it just introduced the goddess and her army and increased the danger for the Empire and our friends. The puzzle pieces got murkier and now I can't wait for books 11 and 12. I know that you will enjoy this book as much as I did.

Having waited so long for this book I was a little displeased. I expected more to happen, but was let down. I understand not wanting to rush them into war, but could we have gotten Sebastian's coronation at least. Even though I was disappointed, I will still read the rest of this series. Just please Terah, give us more.

While this is a great story and the past books have been extremely entertaining its time to end the series. ENOUGH already.
Let Sebastian and Ciardia have their happily ever after. Let the country be unified. Stop it all . If this was a 30-50 page "book" I could understand but each chapter is extensive, complicated, and quite interesting. End it...

I have read every book in The Court light series. I have been waiting for this book, and I was very pleased with it! Now. I'm checking my email every day to know when the next book will be released!

This book was really a leg down. It could have been a couple of chapters added to the next book. It went around a d around. The author seemed lost and didn't know how to move the story forward.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story BUT...
Reviewed in Australia on September 4, 2017
    Pity it wasn't proofread first.

There are a number of errors where the wrong word was used or a word or phrase has been entered twice. It's a bit off putting when you suddenly stop and think "What did that say?" Then have to read that sentence again to register what is meant.

So the stars are purely for the story which, as usual, is very readable.
